Court Holidays and Closures


Section 6103(a) of Title 5 of the United States Code specifies holidays for federal employees.

The list below includes the 10 national holidays when the U.S. Bankruptcy Court will be closed
*The list also includes 4 additional closures for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Connecticut.

CM/ECF will remain operational throughout the closures.

** Although state and local governments and private businesses may use other names (i.e., "President's Day"), this holiday is designated as "Washington’s Birthday" in section 6103(a) of title 5 of the United States Code.

*** July 4, 2020 (the legal public holiday for Independence Day), falls on a Saturday. Friday, July 3, will be observed as a holiday. (See 5 U.S.C. 6103(b).
