Local Bankr. R. 1001-1         Scope, Incorporation of District Court Rules, and Short Title.

  1. Scope of Rules and Short Title.
    1. These rules shall be known as the Local Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut. They shall be cited as D. Conn. Bankr. L. R., and referred to as the "Local Bankruptcy Rules," "Local Bankruptcy Rule ___" or "L. Bankr. R. ___," where the meaning is clear.   The   Local Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure govern the practice and procedure in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut (the “Bankruptcy Court”), in all cases under Title 11 of the United States Code (the “Bankruptcy Code”). The Local Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure supplement, but do not replace the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, the Federal Rules of Evidence, the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, or the Local Rules of Civil Procedure of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
    1. The Appendices to the Local Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure may be modified by the Bankruptcy Court without the necessity of a formal amendment to the Local Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure.
    1. These Local Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure shall be effective August 2, 2021 (the “Effective Date”).
    1. Upon the Effective Date, the Local Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure effective September 4, 2018, (but not Chambers Orders or Procedures) are hereby vacated and superseded.
  1. Incorporation of District Court Rules.

          The Local Rules of Civil Procedure of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut shall apply in all cases or proceedings in the Bankruptcy Court to the extent they are relevant and not inconsistent with the Bankruptcy Code, the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, or these Local Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure.
