Local Bankr. R. 9037-1 Privacy Protections for Filings Made with the Court
EFFECTIVE MARCH 16, 2026
- Redaction of Personal Identifiers. In accordance with FRCP 5.2 and FRBP 9037, and unless otherwise ordered by the Court, all individuals and entities shall not include and shall redact the following personal identifiers from all documents and pleadings filed with the Court, including exhibits thereto, whether filed electronically or in paper:

- Social Security Numbers. If an individual’s social security number must be included in a pleading or document, only the last four digits of that number should appear.

- Dates of Birth. If an individual’s date of birth is included in a pleading, only the birth year should appear.

- Names of Minor Children. If a minor child is mentioned, only the initials of that child should appear.

- Financial Account Numbers. If financial account numbers are used, only the last four digits of these accounts should appear.

- Employee Identification Number. If an Employee Identification Number is used, only the last four digits should appear.

- Motor Vehicle License. If an individual’s Motor Vehicle License must be included in a pleading or document, only the last four digits of that number should appear.

- Medical Insurance, Health Insurance Account, Medicaid or Medicare Policy Numbers.

- Unemployment Account or Access Numbers. If an Unemployment Account or Access Number is used, only the last four digits should appear.

- Insurance Policy Numbers. If an insurance policy or claim number is used, only the last four digits should appear.
- Responsible Party. The responsibility for redacting these personal identifiers rests solely with the filer. The Clerk’s Office will not review filed documents for compliance with this rule.
- Application of District Court Local Civil Rule 5(e). Should any Debtor, creditor, or party-in-interest, including a plaintiff or defendant in an adversary proceeding, believe that any document or pleading to be filed contains information which should be sealed or redacted they shall comply with District Court Local Civil Rule 5(e).
