Implementation of Bankruptcy Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2005

 

 

Electronic Case Filing: The Court's Electronic Case Filing System (ECF) will remain available for filing under the present Bankruptcy Act through 11:59 p.m. on October 16. At midnight all of the court's electronic systems will be shut down for conversion to software implementing the requirements of the new law taking effect on October 17, 2005. We hope to have ECF operational by mid-day on October 17. PACER and VCIS will also be unavailable during that time.

Interim Filing Instructions: During the period that ECF is unavailable we ask that you hold any non emergency filings. In the event you have emergency filings, they should be filed in paper format in the division in which the case is located. No Motion for Exemption From Electronic Filing need accompany such emergency filings. Please check the system for availability before making any paper filings as ECF should be operational by mid-day.

Filing Fees: All fees incurred prior to October 17 should be paid in full no later than October 16. If a fee remains unpaid after that time, contact the clerk's office for guidance in completing the payment. Any fees incurred for emergency filings during the period the system is unavailable should accompany the filing and may be made by credit card, check, or cash, but should not be completed in Pay.gov.

New Forms and Procedures: Will be posted on the court's website effective October 17, please make sure you do not use forms prior to their effective date, or after the effective date of superceding forms.
